“I will serve because I love to serve,” said Geneva Flores, a Grade 8 student leader.
Supreme Student Government (SSG) officers of Speaker Eugenio Perez National Agricultural School (SEPNAS) in coordination with Every Nation Campus San Carlos spearheaded a school-based leadership training held at the SEPNAS library on September 10.
Student leaders from Grades 7 to 11 led by the SSG President, Ron Simon Lomibao, were gathered to participate in the said training. A total of 300 participants composed of mayors, vice mayors and secretaries of each section from all grade levels filled the library.
This one-day training was divided into two sessions: a morning session and an afternoon session. In the morning session, the program started with some speeches and students were asked to roam around and make some friends with other leaders. In the afternoon session, the student leaders were grouped to do real life situation based on what they know about leadership. Several talks were given focusing on L.I.F.E- leadership, integrity, faith, and excellence. This leadership training aims to prepare the student leaders for life and to hone their leadership skills as an individual. Life coaches prepared games for the students on how they are going to handle certain situations.
The director of Every Nation Campus San Carlos, Coach Jolex Ramos stressed that a servant leader is a person who serves wholeheartedly without expecting something in return. He also shared his own experiences about serving other people.
Ramos noted that leadership starts by governing oneself; it is about serving others and making them successful. Regine Lomibao and Marie Antonette Rosario, both alumni of SEPNAS also delivered speeches in the said event.
