Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo has been inaugurated last June 30, 2016 at about 9 o’clock in the morning.
The inauguration was held at the Quezon City Reception House, the same place where the new vice president will hold her office.
Her oath was presided by Ronaldo Coner, the barangay captain of Barangay Punta Tarawal, the poorest barangay of the 3rd district of Camarines Sur. He was joined by Regina San Miguel, the barangay captain of Barangay Mariana, Quezon City where the reception house is located.
Robredo’s speech was delivered in Filipino wherein she even said that her inauguration can be compared to other special moments in her life such as the first time she met Jesse, her husband, and the first time she laid her eyes on her three daughters.
She plans to go to the farthest and poorest barangays of the country in her 1st 100 days as vice president. She believes this is her chance to know the people’s concerns.
