More than 4,000 senior high school (SHS) students are now engaging themselves inside the University. Some are walking along the Phinma Avenue, eating and killing time at the Student's Plaza or are inside their respective classrooms holding pens and papers for their classes. Their huge number seems to have become a big issue for other students specifically those belonging to the higher years. Will that be enough reason to judge and belittle the implementation of the of SHS in the University?
Students in the higher years should be thankful for having the SHS students entering the school for they may be one of the reasons why they have the power to pay their tuition fees at a lesser cost. Without the tuition fee that the SHS are paying, the school may think of making an adjustment on the fees of students. Obviously, that would be a struggle for some students but with the use of the SHS curriculum, many students are able to save. This academic year is just a plain repetition of what had happened to last year's curriculum. The adjustments of schedules and space are like deja vu to everybody except for the new students. It is already a yearly routine that higher years should accept and understand.
Employment for new teachers was made when SHS came. More jobs and opportunities for everybody as the population of the students grow. A simple help for an individual to utilize and practice his/her position. Today a lot of public schools in the Philippines are suffering from conflicts regarding the implementation of SHS. An example is the students were not given the proper classroom for their class discussions. This country aims for a better education for everybody so why does some students stop SHS students in experiencing it? If the school has the ability to give a good education for the youth then it is a great start for them to be motivated in pursuing their career someday. A chance should be given to everybody. Yes it is indeed a new kind of learning process presented by the government. Everybody is adjusting and adapting to it. Let us be one of those adaptor in this ever changing institution we belong to.
