After a four-year hiatus, pop punk band Green Day comes back with a new sound with the single “Bang Bang” released on August 11.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, front man Billie Joe Armstrong discusses about the band’s take on their new album as well as the reason behind their album flop in 2012. Armstrong also said that Bang Bang tackles American gun-crazed culture mixed with the narcissism of social media.
Other than their new single, the band is also set to release an album entitled Revolution Radio on October 7. The album which was solely produced by the band, consists of twelve tracks including the freshly released single.
Armstrong adds, “Revolution Radio is a movement for lost souls to come together… dance together… sing together… and most of all, find each other. That’s what the spirit of Green Day has been about since day one.”
The last time the band released an album was in 2012 with the musical trilogy Uno!, Dos!, and Tre!
